New Bobby

When Alex was getting the Christmas decorations out for me he came across an old friend of his. I washed him and as little alex was going through the laundry in our room, a task he must complete with every load, he found the old friend, "New Bobby".

I'm not sure if they were ever the same color but as you can see, they aren't now. alex carried them around for most of the day and gave them rides on the back of his tricycle we even brushed their teeth.

at one point he wanted me to give Bobby to Chio.

So I did, but I don't think that she really cared...what do you think?

When it came down to it though he only wanted to sleep with Bobby and New Bobby was left on the living room floor. Sorry, New Bobby, maybe tomorrow when daddy comes home he will want to play with you again.

Turn Around

Yes! that is the song by Harry Bellafonte. It's finally on my blog.

You'll have to listen to it. And Kiki, listen to the one by heartland about dad's of girls. I loved her first.

I love my music on my blog. I just listen to it with the great BOSE speakers my husband bought me for my birthday. They connect to my laptop.

What FUN!

Beautiful Music

Today was my birthday. It was very enjoyable, I had friends visit, take me out for dessert, and give me presents. My family gave me beautiful photos of loved ones, and other presents, and made a delicious dinner for me, and then Chantel and I went to hear the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra perform a Christmas program.

They were wonderful. I love listening to beautiful music. I wish that all of my family could have been there. What a lovely day.

I realized that all of my family except for Kiora were here today, and next year, it's possible that only Chantel will be here, possibly Iwalani. OUr family is shrinking, and growing at the same time. Mark called me to sing happy birthday. I was very suprised to see his name show up on my cell phone.

Bowling with Little A

We had sooo much fun going bowling with little A. He was concentrating so hard on how the bowlers were "doing their thing". Then, it was HIS turn.

Vietnam Memorial

You walk down along the wall of the memorial, names are engraved, and people are taking rubbings of them. Although there were quite a few people, they were not loud. Everyone seems contemplative. I remember being in Junior High, and my first couple of years of high school. We would wear metal bracelets with the name of a POW or a MIA person (prisoner of war, missing in action). In 9th grade my history teacher was talking to us about WW II. In Santa Fe, near where he lived was by an internment camp for the Japanese Americans.

I remember thinking how sad it was that Americans, born here, and their parents who had come here to try and build a better life, were then rounded up. Fear is the cause of many injustices in our lives.

Vietnam news was played, songs were written concerning it, protests were marched, but I don't remember people talking much about the Vietnamese people, who were trying to be free, as we are.

Within us I think we all know that Heavenly Father wants us to be free. Free to choose, free to believe, free to learn of Him and to return to Him.

I am grateful for all the soldiers throughout our countries history, who have worked, and some have died, to keep us free, and to help others become free.

Korean War Memorial

As you walk toward the Lincoln Monument the Korean War Memorial is on your left, and the Vietnam Memorial is on the right, on the other side of the reflecting pool.

The Korean War is the one my father served in. He was in the army.

The thing I remember most about it during my childhood is, he wouldn't talk about it.

As we walked along side, you could see them talking to each other, turning around, gesturing, as they went under the trees, and across the field.

At the bottom of the sidewalk were the inscriptions, and then you would walk back up, past the walk with images of soldiers engraved into the stone.

Lincoln Memorial

We left the World War II Memorial and walked along the reflecting pond toward the Lincoln Memorial. I hadn't realized that a lot of the places I wanted to go in Washington DC were all at the same place. The sun was going down, and there were people around, but it seemed serene.

World War II Memorial

As we walked around, on one side there were bas relief "paintings". Of those going to the Atlantic, and those going to the Pacific. I looked at the pictures, as I walked along. Of them listening to the radio, getting their letter to go to war, having a physical, etc. until the end when the war is over, and they are dancing in the streets. It made me cry.

My Visit to Washington, DC May 2005

On the way from the Airport, Max and I decided to choose where we would go the following day. We looked for a parking place for the public. A rare commodity. We found a spot and decided, heh, lets walk across the street and see what's here.

I have one with words, and one without so that you can see all of the photo.

Texas May 2007

alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5075235959070733186" border="0" />Here are the kicks that the birds didn't eat, waste not want not is little a's motto.
Here's big A, watching little a.
Here are the geese, or ducks, or whatever they are.

A boy with a mission.
He wanted to follow all the geese around. He even shared some of their food with them.
Alex loves to walk around the tables, and let his hand rub in the mesh of the benches.
He also likes to climb under the tables to eat the Kix that were thrown for the ducks to eat.
Here is Kiki, and her son Alex,
and her daddy. They are having fun watching Alex. Max has on his backpack, because he's planning on a 50 mile hike. So he walks with GIANT jugs of water in his pack, to weight it down.

Here is where Kiki's new house is. In Sherman Texas.

You drive out of her apartment complex, turn left, take the first right, and you find yourself in a beautiful area. There's little ducks swimming around, and turtles who poke their heads out of the water.
Here is where Kiki and I sat, while the men took little a for a walk around the lake.

It was so quiet and peaceful.

Handsome Alex and his first BIG car

When Chantel and I stayed with little a, we had a lot of FUN!!!! Particularly after we found the fun park. Here are a few of my favorite photos.

The rest of the photos

Goosie at the science fair, talking about her favorite subject. Flag waving. I'm sure that's the technical term.

And a photo of the lovely Teandra after she just won $5,000.00. That's why the big smile.

Max and I are smiling because we are proud parents of our lovely daughters. They are allllllll so wonderful and talented. Just ask me, I'll tell you all about it.

This did not work last night.

You know, everytime I use this, I think that I have to relearn. I swear I was reading the part where I can put a new message one, but it wasn't an option, oh well.

Today was really busy. Max and I went to the high school to judge the SCIENCE EXPO, ( science fair ) . We ate lunch, got Chantel, and drove to Santa Fe. Parked, and walked a block or two, and went downstairs, and Teandra's speech competition was just starting. We were there for the next Three HOURS, listening to a total of 6 speakers.

YEAH! Teandra WON!!!! I thought she was the best, and I am not partial AT ALL.

Now we know that everyone else thought she was best too. Here are some photos, actually, I'll post them separately in case I lose this.

Have a great day!

mom this works fine
