rachael's wedding 08

Hi! We had lots of fun in Texas. It was such a busy few days. Teandra and Mark came the furthest.
They were in Richland WA and left Thursday July 31st to start the trek.
Then they went to RENO NV (no, it wasn't a quickie divorce, or wedding, they were visiting his grandpa who has been very ill.) They went to San Diego CA on Sunday, attended a wedding Monday Evening.
Tuesday they left and drove to Arizona, south of Mesa on Tuesday. Came the rest of the way to Rio Rancho NM on Wednesday. Then we left Wednesday evening about 8:30 pm to go to Kiora's in Texas. It's an 11 hour trip to Sherman, TX. We picked up Kiki and the kids, left Teda & Mark's car there, and on we went to Houston TX. We took two cars, the convertible (my car) and the minivan (grandpa's) alex always tells me that the van is grandma's car. I showed him how the top went down on the convertible. He likes it now.
After another 5 hours or so in the car. We arrived at the hotel, and grandpa told alex YES you can jump on the bed. Another generation reassurred by Max.

We went to the temple as Rachael received her endowment. It was a very special evening. Goosie (Chantel) stayed in the hotel with the little ones.

The next morning, we ate, and off to Uncle Greg's house in Lake Jackson, TX and hour or two south of Houston.

We decorated for the wedding, put lights up, did food stuff, and the kids went to the beach to play, and go on the catamarran. (probably not spelled right, oh well)

When they got back, we drove back to the hotel in Houston. (yes, we spent a lot of quality time in the car).

The next morning Rachael was married, we checked out of the hotels when we came back from the temple, and drove back down to Uncle Greg's house. The reception was that night. We fixed lights that fell off, did more food stuff, and got ready for the crowd. THERE WERE SOOOO MANY PEOPLE!
at the same time. They all came early or right on time. At home, we have A LOT of people who come late. Not there. Donna and Greg had Texas BBQ, and Sausage with BBQ sauce it was DELICCCCCCIOUS!!! :0) Great fruit dip, yummy punch, veggies, and a chocolate FOUNTAIN with lots of yummy things to dip.

We still fit in the car on the way home. Our hotel at Gregs, had two bathrooms, a kitchen, a "living room" and two bedrooms. It was wonderful, we all fit in one place.

Sunday, we went to Church at the Spanish Branch with Uncle Greg. He's the counselor in the Stake Presidency there, and he asked all those who spoke Spanish to bear their testimonies. I was also asked to play the piano to accompany the congregation for sacrament meeting. Listening to the testimonies of my children, and their spouses brought tears to my eyes. Each of us testified of what the gospel meant in our lives, of the Atonement in our lives, of the blessings that come of following the scriptures, listening to the prophets, and praying for answers, of the blessings of our families, and why they are important to us. I wish the rest of the family had come.

We then went back to Kiora's house in Sherman, so that Iwalani and Chantel would be 7 hours closer to home. They had to come back to go to work. We played until Friday, when we came home, and Teandra left with Mark for Indiana. I'll let Kiki tell you what we did all week.
